La French Tech Tokyo renewed as an official French Tech Community for 2026–2028

We are pleased to share that La French Tech Tokyo has officially been re-labelled as a French Tech Community for the 2026–2028 period. The new network of 125 French Tech Capitals and Communities was announced on May 6 by Anne Le Hénanff, French Minister Delegate for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Affairs.

The French Tech network is a French government initiative designed to position France among the world’s leading innovation nations and to support the emergence of technology leaders. Each Capital and Community acts as a local relay of that mission, connecting entrepreneurs, startups, investors, and institutions across borders.

A decade of building bridges between France and Japan

For the past ten years, La French Tech Tokyo has supported entrepreneurs, startups, and corporates active between France and Japan, and helped grow a community connecting the two countries through innovation, collaboration, and shared opportunities. The community has grown around a simple idea: innovation moves faster when the people behind it are connected.

A community effort

This renewed recognition reflects the work of many people and organisations who have contributed to La French Tech Tokyo over the years.

Particular thanks go to Julie Huguet and the teams at La French Tech for their continued support of the network, and to Ryu Tatewaki (Exotec) for his role in the community’s development. We are also grateful to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, in particular Keiichi Yoshimura and his teams, for their partnership in connecting French and Japanese innovation ecosystems.

Our thanks go as well to Women in Tech® Japan, with Keiko Murata and Rebecca Takada, and to the many corporate partners who have supported the community: Shift Technology and Tatsuji Fujii, Bouygues Asia with Pierre Mustiere, Ekohe and Maxime Guilbot, Crédit Agricole CIB with Benjamin Lamberg and Yuka Saiki, FACIL’iti with Yves Cornu, Orikio (formerly OSO-AI) with Philippe Roguedas, and Mirakl with Kyohei Sato and Hiraki Sato.

We are equally thankful to our institutional partners in Japan: Business France Japon, the Service Économique Régional de Tokyo, and the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan, whose ongoing collaboration makes much of our work possible.

Looking ahead

Congratulations to the 125 French Tech Capitals and Communities recognised for the 2026–2028 period. We are looking forward to the next three years, to continuing to grow the France–Japan tech community, and to working alongside everyone who makes this ecosystem what it is.
